Uruguay 3-0 Russia

No more vodka. Uruguay serves Russians with Wine, Chivito and some futbol

UUruguay’s first three triumphs in a row since 2015, another clean sheet by Uruguay’s great, Muslera in his 100th appearance for La Celeste. The South American are yet to concede a goal in this calendar year.

  1. More than double of the goals of Uruguay come in the way, shape and form of Suarez and Cavani (96) and all the other 42 belong to their colleagues.
Russia casted a spell in Cavani. A million opportunities enabled and created, but it was not before a rebound, so that he after all could score a goal. DESERVED!!!

Cavani the fighter, 43 goals in 104 Appearances. Looking forward to be lured away from Paris.
Cavani became the second player to get into the scoresheet in three different World Cups – Suarez LOVE Cavani – The Ultimate blissful relationship.

  2. Cheryshev wanted so much a goal to reach Ronaldo & Lukaku up in the ranks and to get closer to Kane, that he ended up scoring in the wrong net, but who cares. GOAL-SCORER!!!
Luis Suarez left his mark with a goal extending his tally to 7 in World Cup competition by Uruguay, only training behind Oscar Miguez that has 8. DON’T BITE ME!!!

Russia were never able to drop a proper ball to his main striker and their set-pieces were the most appalling possible looking beyond amateur football. Just to placing everything into context, the best player of Russia against Uruguay was none other than Akinfeev with sparkling glimpses of the world’s greatest goalkeeper idol, Lev “Black Spider” Yashin.

Unlike in the last competition where Russian were brilliant at all times, they are feeling blessed by being at home ground like most home nations in the history of the World Cup.

Amazing Russian fans throughout the 90 minutes inheriting the grace of Iceland, Peru, Panama and most underdogs or perhaps going simply Liverpool Style – “You will never walk alone!!” APPRECIATED!!

  3. Uruguay & Portugal look like the first hot pick of the draft in the “playoffs”

When Uruguay topped their group like in 1930 & 1950 they were crowned World Champions, while in 1954 and 2010 they finished 4th. Is this the path for Uruguay? SEMI-FINALIST!!

  4. Uruguay 3-0 Russia
    (L. Suárez '10 | D. Cheryshev '23 og | E. Cavani '90)
