Switzerland 2-2 Costa Rica

Swiss chocolate’s football too sweet for Costa Rica

SSwiss made sure they advanced regardless of the first or second spot of Group E. Their expectations tend not to match their FIFA Rankings, 6th!
The upcoming stage beyond groups and World Cup’s history is not a reliable place to get into championing results based on Rankings – ASK GERMANY PLEASE!

  1. Fans celebrated 4 goals and Costa Rica went home with fresh chocolates courtesy of Switzerland.
Not much to say here except cultural exchange of gifts. I give you goals, you give me chocolate, we draw, and everyone gets satiated!! DONE!!

Gratuitous and complementary assist by Costa Rica gave the lead to Switzerland through Dzemaili before the half-time, just to exchange pleasantries and cookies in the beginning of the second half with a Costa Rica’s deserved goal by Kendall Waston.
Goalkeepers were the biggest artists at this match, pulling some Picasso’s saves. That kept the audiences around the world very well entertained.
  2. Dual citizen Josip Drmic is through to the knockout stages in “double manner” as his Switzerland advanced with the help of his late goal versus Costa Rica and he saw Croatia (his parents) advancing in fashionable elegance.
  3. The game was not supposed to finish before another penalty-kick, another miss, another own-goal, as Bryan Ruiz strikes against the bar (this match has his entertaining shots aimed at the bar from both sides) just instant moments before it hits the back of goalkeeper Yann Sommer to accept the 2-2 result. Costa Rica goes home happy, while Switzerland extends their tourist stay at Russia.
